Lapua decided to develop a new cartridge for mid range shooting that would out perform the 6mmBR. The cartridge had to have a high ballistic coefficient. It had to be a load that did not burn out barrels prematurely. That was a very tall order. The result was the new 6.5 x 47 Lapua. The 6.5 x 47 Lapua is an extremely accurate round for 300, 600, or even 1000 yards. It has also become popular with the Tactical Rifle shooters. Two Precision Snap Caps per package.
