Case neck annealing is nothing new. Brass does not become hardened with heating. It is the working of the neck through sizing and firing that work hardens the brass. The fact is, annealing a case brings elasticity back to the case neck. This results in proper neck tension and greatly increases the useful life of the brass not to mention increases the accuracy of the cartridge. The problem with many who case anneal is how hot they get the neck. Too little is a waste of time but red hot can be too much. It is important that the sides and head of the case not be over heated or it will weaken that area. Harbour Arms now offers precision case neck annealing. The cost of this service is 10 cents per round. Please contact me for information on shipping.
